Flowers and Cupcakes for Dementia Action Week
Dementia Action Week is the Alzheimer's Society's annual campaign that brings people together from across the country under a unified theme to take action on dementia. This year's, Dementia Action Week will run from 13-19 May 2024 and is an awareness raising campaign working with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to take action on dementia so that all those living with dementia, their friends, family and carers, can live a happy and fulfilling life.
On Thursday 16th May from 10am to 12pm, Friends Together Dementia Friendly Cafe, with help from our friends at Bristol Dementia Action Alliance (BDAA), will be helping raise awareness by running a 'Flowers & Cupcakes' activity Cafe. Everyone is welcome, and all materials are provided, so come along and create a beautiful dried flower arrangement with the help of some of our lovely flower team at All Saints. In addition, you can try your hand at icing and decorating a cup cake, which you can enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee - and yet more of our famous home-made cakes!
Lisa and Jeff from BDAA will be there to chat about the amazing work they do in and around Bristol, and will have plenty of information to hand out. Also coming is Louise Baird of Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Centre/The Alzheimer’s Society, who’ll be bringing some of their literature, too, and will also be available for a chat.
