The PCC
The ‘PCC’ is the Parochial Church Council of All Saints with St John, Clifton.
The PCC meets four or more times each year and has responsibility and accountability for the life and work of All Saints. In particular, the PCC:
-
Works with the incumbent in promoting the work and mission of the church. This includes taking forward ‘Transforming Church. Together’ and finding ways to work with neighbouring parishes and other bodies within the geographical and extended community
-
Together with the Incumbent have a duty to consult on matters of general concern and importance to the parish, and to co-operate in promoting in the parish the whole mission of the church: pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. This includes almost everything to do with the church’s work in the parish, and its relationship with the deanery and the diocese
-
Is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the church, churchyard and moveable objects. As well as being responsible for the care and upkeep of the church and moveable items, the PCC is also be the beneficial owner of the Randall Room and other parts of the church plant
-
Has overall charge of all expenditure
-
Members are Trustees of the church. In this sense, the PCC is a body corporate, which means that it is a separate body from the people who serve on it. PCC members are also trustees, which entails various responsibilities under charity law
Minutes of each meeting are published (once they have been approved) and are documents open to public scrutiny. On occasions there may be elements that are redacted due to particular sensitivities or because they relate to individual members of the team.
If you wish to view the minutes, they are available on line here; alternatively, you can request a printed version from the Parish Office.
