All Saints Food Point and Harvest Supper
Friday 6th October 2023
All Saints definitely knows how to celebrate, and our Harvest Supper 2023, was no exception! It was the first evening social gathering since before the Pandemic and was a huge success, with a wonderful array of food prepared by the amazing All Saints events' team - Janice C, Janice H, Mary and Vicky - and the room was decked out with beautiful illuminated harvest foliage decorations.
The evening was filled with laughter and lively conversation, interspersed with Roger's 'Harvest Supper Quiz' (a gift for those who know their Saints and the UK towns and cities they're associated with!) and the famous All Saints Harvest Raffle.
We are of course hugely fortunate to be able to share such delicious food in such good company, but thoughts of those less fortunate than ourselves were never far from our minds, with all proceeds from this year's supper & raffle ticket sales contributing to our Harvest Giving this year, focusing on the All Saints Food Point.
The Food Point is situated in the entrance tower to church, and is available to anyone and everyone, throughout the day whilst church is open. It operates on trust and a 'first come/first served' basis and is used a LOT, by people from all walks of life who have found themselves in need for whatever reason, during these challenging financial times. The Food Point is topped up with donated food and useful household items on a regular basis, but donations aren't always as regular as they need to be, particularly at times when stocks are needed the most - e.g. over Christmas time and during summer holidays when our generous donors are away. So this year's Harvest Giving will go towards the creation of a fund from which food can be bought when donated stocks are low.
Many, many thanks to everyone who made this year's Harvest Supper such a great success and enabling the Food Point to continue helping those in need.
